ANNUAL BUDGET MEETING

 The legal voters of the Town of Colebrook and those entitled to vote in town meetings of said Town are hereby notified and warned that the Annual Budget Meeting of said Town will be held in the Town Hall Meeting Room (2nd floor) 562 Colebrook Road, on Monday, May 2, 2022 at 8:00 p.m. for the transaction of the following business:

  1. To consider and act upon the appropriations recommended by the Board of Finance and to determine what action will be taken to adopt a budget for the Town for the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2022.
  2. To consider and act upon the appropriations recommended by the Board of Finance and to determine what action will be taken to adopt a budget for the Town’s Reserve Fund for Capital and Non-recurring Expenditures (Town’s Capital Improvement Projects).
  3. To consider and act upon a proposal to authorize the Board of Selectmen to apply for and expend any federal and state grants for use by the Town.

The Board of Selectmen of the Town of Colebrook has designated that the vote on Items 1 and 2 shall be by Referendum on the optical scan voting machines in the Town of Colebrook on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

TOWN BUDGET FY 2021 – 2022

REGIONAL SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 7

REFERENDUM VOTE

Pursuant to Section 7-7 of the General Statutes of Connecticut, notice is hereby given to the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of Colebrook that a referendum will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 for the purpose of voting for the approval or disapproval of the following question:

“Shall the general budget of the Town of Colebrook for the fiscal year from July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023 in the amount of $7,102,158 and the Town’s Reserve Fund for Capital and Non-recurring Expenditures (Town’s Capital Improvement Projects) budget in the amount of $450,000 be approved as recommended by the Board of Finance?”

Pursuant to Sections 10-51 and 7-7 of the General Statutes of Connecticut, Revised, notice is hereby given to the electors and citizens qualified to vote in town meetings of the Town of Colebrook that a referendum will be held on Tuesday May 3, 2022 for the purpose of voting for the approval or disapproval of the following question:

“Shall the Regional School District No. 7 Annual Budget for the fiscal year                             commencing July 1, 2022 be accepted?”

Optical scan voting machines will be used.  A vote of “YES” being a vote for approval, and a vote of “NO” being a vote for disapproval.  Absentee Ballots will be available at the Office of the Town Clerk as provided by law.

Voting will take place at the Colebrook Town Hall, Meeting Room (2nd floor) 562 Colebrook Road, Colebrook from 6:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Notice of Budget Hearing

The Board of Finance of the Town of Colebrook, Connecticut, hereby notifies all electors and citizens entitled to vote at town meetings in the Town of Colebrook that the Board of Finance will hold a public budget hearing on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at 7:00 p.m. in the Colebrook Town Hall Meeting Room, 2nd floor, 562 Colebrook Road.  At that meeting, itemized estimates of the expenditures proposed for the town during the fiscal year commencing July 1, 2022, will be presented; and the Board of Finance will hear all persons who wish to be heard regarding appropriations they want the board to recommend to the town or reject.
