Shared Services is a Cooperative Education Service Center (CESC) that has been providing specialized services and special education staff and programs to school districts in Northwestern Connecticut for over 40 years. Current members include the districts of Barkhamsted, Colebrook, Hartland, Norfolk, and Northwestern Regional #7. The Shared Services central office is located on the Northwestern Regional #7 campus. Students serviced are between the ages of 3 and 21.
The mission of Shared Services is to provide the highest quality special education and related services to students, families, and member schools within the limits of increasing fiscal restraints. Additionally, Shared Services was organized to develop and modify the necessary services for member schools that meet the needs of the constantly changing school populations within the context of best practices, federal regulations, and research-based knowledge. Inclusive opportunities are maximized around the individual needs and best interests of students and parental preference.
