News from Colebrook Town Hall

Greetings from Colebrook Town Hall.
The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection yesterday announced that, effective immediately, the statewide burn ban for Connecticut’s State Parks, Forests, and Wildlife Management Areas has been lifted. This decision comes as recent precipitation has significantly improved conditions and lowered the forest fire danger level to LOW-to-MODERATE, statewide. Open burning regulations are now back to normal.

Town Hall will be closed tomorrow and Friday for the Thanksgiving holiday. Curbside trash and recycling pickup will be pushed back one day this week.
Seventy residents attended a Public Informational Hearing earlier this week to ask questions and learn more about a proposed 20-year, $4.9 million Tax Stabilization Agreement with Wind Colebrook South. On Monday, December 9th, there will be a special town meeting adjourning to referendum on Tuesday, December 10th, where taxpayers will have an opportunity to consider the proposed agreement and approve, or disapprove. Polls will be open from noon to 8 p.m. Absentee ballots will be available in the Town Clerk’s office, as provided by law. Requests must be made in person.
