Tonight at 7 p.m. in the upstairs meeting room at Town Hall, the Planning & Zoning Commission will host an informational meeting to discuss options for cannabis regulations for the Town of Colebrook.
Saturday, October 19th, is household hazardous waste collection day at the Torrington Water Pollution Control Facility at 252 Lower Bogue Road in Harwinton. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. You must have a ticket to participate. At our annual Town Meeting on Monday, October 21st, at 8 p.m., we will vote on candidates for member and alternate positions on the: Planning & Zoning Commission (3 positions); Zoning Board of Appeals (3 positions); Recreation Board (3 positions); and Historic District Commission (2 positions).
As noted earlier, this week we are crack sealing approximately five miles of roads in town-specifically McClave, Prock Hill and Wolford Hill Roads-to help prevent potholes and extend the pavement’s useful life. These roads will be chip sealed next summer.
With flu season approaching, the Community & Senior Center in conjunction with the Visiting Nurse & Hospice of Litchfield County is sponsoring a clinic on Thursday, October 24th. Flu vaccine shots will be available from 9-11 a.m. Please bring your medical insurance card. Colebrook Consolidated School (CCS) is hosting a Textile Drive during October. The CCS Class of 2028 will receive a donation for every pound collected. On Saturday, October 5th, the Colebrook Consolidated School (CCS) fifth grade class will host its annual Pumpkin & Mum Sale from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in the school parking lot. On Friday, October 18th, at 7 p.m., the Colebrook Historical Society presents, “The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC).” The presentation by Marty Podskoch, a retired teacher and author of 11 books, will discuss the CCC’s history and their work in Connecticut.
